I also feel that online teaching platform is really interesting and efficient , however, the location and the types of students we get makes a lot of difference. At times we see students online, however, for the actual classes they are not there.

I also agree that the knowledge or concept we teach remains the same, however, the mode of delivery makes a lot of difference. The use of different forms of media has a lot of impact on students. Some prefer the use of You - Tube, video or audio and they learn so fast with active participation. On the other hand, at times we still have to go back to our chalk and blackboard system to cater for those students with difficulties and are struggling. So as teachers I feel we can use our own discretion to suit our students ability to teach.

The animated representation of such formulas could be a little too difficult to understand as mathematics is something to achieve practically. However different people have different capacity of learning things and especially when it comes to mathematics tutorial online. Such representation will be beneficial to students in understanding the concept of solution but different books have different symbols or formula notations which can be confusing on the other hand. A very good example is a mathematical symbol of Pitch Diameter which is (d) and some write as (Pd) which in other text books or videos they are represented for Diametral Pitch which are 2 different things in spur gear terminology.
According to the teaching and learning environment where we are focused to reach our students in a more convenient platform which is Moodle. We open discussion forums, assignment drop box and all the lectures and its pre-recorded videos for students to have asynchronous approach to learning. Also we use Zoom platform for synchronous approach where by we meet during our lecture hours on zoom to have interactive session. Not all students are available for synchronous learning environment so recorded version are very useful tool on Moodle.

Absolutely true. This is where we can say synchronous approach to learning environment is defeated in the sense, students log in to zoom class and then fly off to do other things. We only come to know this when we have interactive session and discussion topic to involve everyone present. Infact that depends on students ethics as well.

Great pedagogies tried out there mam. I agree with the use of facebook, but at times when students use facebook,they have that idea to explore more on the app and later becomes addictive and not used for its right purpose . Parents might be thinking that a class is going on but on the other hand, it the total opposite. You know even some children know facebook better than pares and we need to be aware of the sites they visit.

Thus, E-learning can incorporate many different types of media: text, graphics, audio, video, animation, simulation, exercises, or activities. Lastly, computer as a medium may include animation, online social networking, use of search engines, or simulation design.The most suitable media for ODFL communication in our environment would be Viber, Skype or Zoom for communication with students since it is most easily accessible and group chats are made easy.

Solving math problems can be hilarious but when represented using different media, it can motivate learners and especially learners with disabilities. Technology promotes inclusiveness in education.
I would prefer synchronous mode of teaching in my English classes because i would get the feedback from my students at the same time. For Social Science, asynchronous modes of teaching can be helpful as well. Students play the recorded audio, go over recorded PowerPoint presentations in order to understand a complicated topic.

Agree with you. While teaching I found out that students are able to understand but when asked to write they are confused. So feel we need to have more of face to face class and give out research work to students.

The media that is most suitable for Open, Distance and Flexible classes depends on how Synchronous and Asynchronous mode of communication you plan to implement in your classes.
Synchronous communication happens in real time and in the moment.
Video conference, live chat or phone call, are the most appropriate media to be used.
Synchronous communication is faster and more dynamic and it is great for active participation.
In Asynchronous communication, pre-recorded video, audio messages, e-mail are the best media to be used.
Asynchronous communication there is no need to schedule, which means you can go at your own pace with fewer disruption.
Asynchronous communication works well when the internet connection is unstable or when participants are in different time zone. It also tends to allow for a permanent record for your communication.

Children learn differently at their own pace. As teachers we have to consider the different learning styles of the children and make sure that that they are all included in your teaching and learning activities.
Have you ever tried to sit back and try to observe how children communicate in the classroom? At times it feels funny when see them trying to imitate a character from an animation movie.

- I think knowledge does not become different when represented by different media, actually it presents an opportunity for it to have wider meaning. In Mathematics, the animation will provide better opportunity to remember, however the formula is equally important to be remembered.

• Students have mobile phones and can easily have access to the app.
• The media is both time and cost efficient
• The media is easy to use for both the teachers and students
• Visual aid can be used for clarification.
• Audio can be used for enhancement.
• Graphics can be used for better understanding.

I think using the different media help different students gain the same knowledge or concept the teacher to trying to teach.
I think using video as a media to ODFL class is suitable because student can download or access it at their own time and can be replay until student understand the concept
