Module 0 has been exciting and a guide on how to use the everyday technologies. It is a wonder that we under utilize our smartphones and yet these gadgets can be very helpful with the correct approach and knowledge to use them. In the field of agriculture and environmental sciences, I have found Google translate very relevant and flexible to use. For example when teaching the periodic table, this smartphone application has been used to interpret chemical symbols to bring clear understanding to students. Most of the symbols in the periodic table are derived from Latin words, so understanding why the symbol of iron is Fe, derived from ferrous has greatly helped students. In addition, although I’ve just started exploring it, canva seems relevant to my agriculture practical lessons. For example, creating a poster for advertising and marketing eggs for the school enterprise.
Furthermore, I have used PheT simulations to help students understand the concept of greenhouse effect and global warming.
Yes Google Translate promotes deeper insight to students for concept internalizing.
