The OERu is designed to support learning on the Internet, rather than providing learning via a single application like a learning management system (LMS).
Learner interactions are distributed across a range of open technologies and aggregated into a course feed (for more information consult the OERu support site).
We recommend that volunteers respond to learners on the technology platform where the post originates. The timestamp link which appears in the course feed will direct you to the source of the post.
You will need to create an account on each of the following services hosted by OERu:
- Course site for the respective course. See how to register on a course site: Registering on the course site will enable you to post comments on the course site and you will also receive copies of the course instructions via email.
- forums.oeru.org: This is the main discussion forum space for OERu courses. See using OERu forums for more information.
- mastodon.oeru.org: Is the OERu social media network. See using the OERu social network for more information. Remember to include the course #hashtag in your reply.
We also use hypothes.is for annotating web-pages. By creating an account you will be able to reply to learner posts on hypothes.is. See using hypothes.is for more information. Remember to include the course tag in your reply.
