Thanks Shivani! (@Vishalni-18 ) Interesting. Just curious to know if you had helpers to assist with the pulse/pressure/temperature checks, etc. What was the response from the patients? Were they comfortable?
Hi Maraia, welcome to the course.
Bula Roselyn, Welcome to the course. How is internet connectivity in Bua?

Bula Sisilia - Welcome to the course.
Bula vinaka members , my name is vitoriano Mara. I have been interpreting for all subject from year 9 to year 12 in an inclusive high school in suva for more than 2 years. So far the biggest challenge I have come across is trying to come in terms with the new learning system and how to get across the information through online teaching. Due to the pandemic I have been spending my free time working in the farm and getting online tips from my children.
Mauri from The Island of Kiribati. My name is Mokuaro. I teach at Kauma Adventist High School for about 4years now. I teach History and my biggest challenge is to teach using new technology as I am one old fashioned local teacher. That what motivates me in taking this course.
I enjoyed doing karaoke and meet new people and learn new challenges every day.
Blessed to you all
Hello everyone! My name is Shom and I have been a teacher for the past 15 years. I am currently teaching in a urban school facilitating lessons for mathematics and physics. My biggest challenge would be maintaining my students interest in our online classes. In my leisure time I love to read novels, watch movies or play team sports.
Hello all…my name is Radhika and I am from Fiji. I am a secondary school teacher, teaching English and Hindi for the past 14 years now. During this pandemic I was faced with the challenge of teaching online using google classroom where the students involvement was not good as attendance to class and participating in online class was very less. With this another challenge was getting students to do online assessments. In my leisure time I use different entertainments to rejuvenate such as watching movies, TV series, listening to motivational talk, meditational music and gardening.
Hi Val. Good to hear fro you. I am Cama and am from Fiji. It will be interesting to hear ffrom you about your education system, curriculum and the challenges.
Hi all. My names Peter and as an On the Job trainer for Air Navigational systems at Fiji Airports, I am used to face to face training/learning. On this platform I hope to broaden my skills and knowledge further and incorporate them in enhancing the skills and know how of new generation technical officers at Fiji Airports.
@DeepakPrasad actually those stuff were usually taken by the nurses there and we were just given the information by our doctors of what the vitals (BP, pulse etc) were of the patients and since this is done for all patients, the patients did not have a problem with. Our interaction with the patient was less because we did not want to disturb them, so most of the times our senior doctors enacted as patients and we approached them as student doctors
Many thanks for your response. Ahh makes perfect sense.
Mauri Mokuaro - please to have you in the course. Best.
Bula! My name is Suliana Kolitagane. and I reside in Suva. I teach Mathematics and Physics for Secondary level students. One of the greatest challenge that I face with students are their lack of knowledge to learn using IT as many do not have the resources, while others misuse the resources given to them and do not prioritize their time wisely with the available resources. In my leisure time I try to exercise, go for swimming and read.
Good morning everyone. I am likely to be the latest to this forum for the proposed 4 weeks of this course. My name is Haikiu Taukave- i teach with CMNHS at FNU and have been doing this intermittently for the last 3 years. My biggest challenge with online learning is gauging responses of students and ensuring there is enough subject activity outside of class sessions. The field of medicine I am involved in is heavy on the practical side so there is no shortage of this with face to face classes for activity and learning opportunities. So I’m here for bright ideas and the certificate… lol…
I try my best to completely forget about work during leisure time- so hard though when all your friends are in similar fields… otherwise family, running around the park and the occasional party… Cheers…
Hello and Bula vinaka to everyone.
I am Amitesh Shalvin Prasad originally from Lautoka, Fiji. I’m currently teaching at Veiuto Primary School in Suva. 2022 is my fourth year as a school teacher. During the pandemic last year the challenge that I had experienced was a vast number of students unable to have access to gadgets in regards to attending online classes. I like to play volley ball during my leisure time.
Good morning Suliana, like you I reside in Suva. Maths and Physics were my favorite subjects in high school… Im am also interested in getting students to maximise on the resources available to them. My other concern is setting up assessments that require analysis rather than recall because the internet allows students to access answers in the exam setting if not supervised… I am also very keen on your list of hobbies and pre corona i would probably add travelling to this…
Bula Amitesh, glad someone else is joining this forum at a similar time. I have 3 years formal teaching experience so you are a year ahead of me in this regard. Excited to see what new things we can learn during this course… cheers…
Good morning Hikes. Likewise. Thrilled to acquire innovative ideas throughout the course.
